Namu’s father accepted an assignment in Lusaka, Zambia as a Lecturer in a Cooperative Society funded by the Swedish International Development Agency – SIDA.
Namu join with his family and continued on his high school studies in Lusaka, Zambia. The Ponnambalam family continued to live in the Cooperative College Campus located at Leopards Hill Road, Lusaka, Zambia. The college ran a successful training program for local cooperative staff and able to sustain a smaller farm based Cooperative on its site as well.
Following few years in Zambia the family went back to Sri Lanka. Namu decided to join his brother in India for further studies.
